For the last three years I have been working alongside my partner as the assistant Director of Buchi Kombucha Australia. We create traditional brewed kombucha, water kefir & also health tonics and DIY brew kits. I believe in health through real food and nutrition, and celebrate the magical transformation that fermentation brings to food. I am a mother of 4 beautiful daughters and believe that by educating our children on how to look after their body, their planet and teach them of ancient wisdoms we will experience great change on our earth.

My passion for ferments goes back to my childhood, eating sauerkraut with kielbasa and potatoes. Once I discovered live probiotic, real sauerkraut, I was hooked, and it’s been a love affair ever since.
I fermented for local small farms and CSA’s for the past 13 years in Northern VA, and ran a Kombucha brewing & consultation business for 2 years. I am now entering my 14th year fermenting as Market Manager and Brewer for Owl Spoon Water Kefir Company and as Krautmaker for Wild Earth Fermentation.
I continue to be blown away by the ease with which Water Kefir opens minds to the concept of eating ferments. Its a gateway drug, and once people start, it only serves to expand their palates and interest into how many more ferments they can enjoy. The answer is – a lot!

I started making water kefir at home nearly 10 years ago as a way to introduce natural probiotics into my family’s daily rhythm. After experimenting with different flavors and fermenting techniques, it soon became our drink of choice, just based on pure enjoyment. I started getting requests for it from friends and then their friends, and decided to start Owl Spoon Water Kefir Co about a year and a half ago in order to introduce this delicious naturally bubbly and probiotic drink to more people.
